All Worth It

Everyone deserves to have a formal education for their brighter and better future. But some of us our unlucky for not having that right.
I was once a girl who doesn't care and not thinking, "Where will I study high school?" When we were at grade 6 back then, ma'am Dabalos asked us who wants to take an entrance exam at Science. I don't even know that there is a school like that until that time came. I told myself that it's worth trying for so I took it. My parents were even shocked when I asked them to sign the papers. At first, I thought I'll ever pass but thank God, I passed. The last two school years were both great and worse. My grade 7 life was very peaceful but when I stepped at grade 8? Everything went into something I never expected. But yeah, I really have to expect the unexpected huh? So... yeah, I found 'friends' and 'haters' that helped me mold myself into a better me. This grade 9 year, I consider this as a moment of truth. Why? I realized, there is still someone more deserving than me here in Science so why am I even here? I recalled all the things I have done during my stay here and believe me. it's worst. Now, I want to prove to myself and to others that I should be here, studying with all my might because I know that whatever happens? Someday all these things will of worth.

OPLAN Exodus

There are many people around the world with different task to accomplish. But this one, the OPLAN Exodus is a very complicated one. In this case, a Special Action Force (SAF) was made but unfortunately, the people involved here experience the most traumatic experience they ever have in their entire life. Forty-four of the SAF commandos died.
I proudly salute them for what they have done for the country because their death was not wasted. The terrorist, Marwan, was killed. They have showed their bravery in giving and offering their lives for our country. Not everyone have the courage like that-- neither I. They are an inspiration for us youth because of the courage, bravery, determination and loyalty they showed for our country.
I hope that justice for their death will be laid sooner and not later for what they have done in OPLAN Exodus will never be forgotten.

Violations

As a student, we cannot deny the fact that we are committing various violations everyday at school. Some are minor... and some are very serious.

TARDINESS
A man named Mang Froy was assigned to guard the gate. The classes starts at 7:00 in the morning and the gate will be closed by that time.
Some of the students occasionally comes late which means they cannot enter the school premises and have to wait until 11:45 in the morning where the gate will be opening again.

UNIFORMITY
The school has a proper uniform that students should wear. But most of them are not wearing ID's especially the boys. Some of the boys are also not following the proper haircut for them. In that case, they are not allowed to enter the school premises unless they did not violate the proper uniform policy.

ENGLISH SPEAKING POLICY
The students are obliged to speak in English inside the school premises except during Filipino subjects. They are not allowed to speak in Tagalog if not needed but they are allowed to speak in English or in Spanish. Whenever the students would violate this policy. their performance in their English subject will be affected.

NO 'SHOUTING' POLICY
Nowadays, students are becoming fond of shouting, especially when there a school activity or event. Because of this, students are not allowed to shout at ALL TIMES inside the school premises. Those who will violate this will have to deal with their teachers or activities that will be given to them.

DENY
Students that will deny to admit the violations will be forced to face a bigger consequence than they would receive. They will either be 0 in their outputs or be suspended.

DESTRUCTION
There are times that students destroy school properties intentionally or unintentionally. In this destruction can also include how they destroy the dignity of such person. In this case, students will be suspended.

LAZINESS
Students are commonly lazy doing their outputs. In this case, they will either have a low grade or zero in their output that will surely contribute a bad effect to their grades. If they fail to maintain a grade of 83 in the minor subjects and 85 in major subjects, they will be either be under probation or will be kicked out from the school.

BULLYING
The government had a law with regards to bullying, the Anti-bullying Law. In which case, if students will say something that will offend others, hurt others, and will be reported to the right authority, you will be forced to find another school to study but will reflect at your good moral certificate.

CHEATING
The worst case that a student will commit. If anybody will cheat especially during a test, they will be automatically kicked out from the school.

In this case, have you realized the violations you'd committed? Are you already thinking which station you belong?

The Filipino's Faith

Last January 15 up to January 19, one of the most memorable event in our lives as a Christian happened. It is the Papal and state visit of Pope Francis. Most of the Filipinos are really grateful with this and it also triggered the faith of the Filipinos.
During his visit, all of the TV stations are airing it. They never missed every word that came from the Pope that will surely mark in our hearts. I was really touched especially when he want to stay longer at Tacloban but unfortunately, they have to go back before one in the afternoon. One of the things that I will never forget is the favor he asked back there in Palo Cathedral Church. The 'Please pray for me... and Be QUIET.' I was also touched whenever he gets near the people who really needs someone like him that will give them hope. During this visit, I really believe that the FAITH of the Filipinos hadn't been gone all along! It is just there, waiting for someone to pull the trigger in order to explode. His compassion for other who really was in need was very unpredictable and is so huge that we can never measure it.

I always remember one of my favorite verse in the bible. "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11). That is the main reason why I think God sent the Pope here in our country. To remind us His promises to His people. And like what He had promised Joshua, He will NEVER leave you NOR forsake you. The marks that Pope Francis leave in the hearts of the Filipinos, will remain FOREVER AND ALWAYS for this is the reason why the Filipino's faith had triggered once again.

Leaving for a Living?!

"Money is what we need in order to live." The famous quote of most of the Filipinos. There are millions of people going out of the country, not to have a vacation, but to work. And it's because of their needs-- money.
We have many beliefs about working out of the country for our own benefits. But for me, I don't think we need to work abroad. Well, we can also work here but the thing is that, most of us, are dependent. We just depend on what is to serve in front of us. We need to work. If only there are business here. Well, there are! Most of the successful business people here Philippines are what? Chinese, Americans, Indian, etc. They appreciates the things this country can provide us that is why they use that to make their business successful. What more if we, Filipinos, work for those things, here in our beloved country.
We, Filipinos, have the ability, talent, confidence, and determination so why don't we use it in order for us to work for our country and not for other country?

Romeo and Juliet (Act 5, Scene 3)

Paris visited the grave of Juliet and put the flowers on it. The servant warned him that there is someone walking through the graveyard so he hide and Romeo, together with Balthazar entered. Romeo gave Balthazar a letter for his father and told him to leave. After Balthazar left, Romeo begins to open the tomb of Juliet. Paris appears and stopped Romeo. Romeo challenged him and they fought. Paris died and Romeo opened the tomb where Juliet lies. He looked at Juliet for the last moment and drank the poison.
After the death of Romeo, Friar Lawrence with the materials to open the tomb of Juliet. As soon as he got there, he saw the body of Romeo and Juliet wakes up. The moment Juliet find out that her husband was dead already, she told the friar to go knowing that there is someone going at the place.
The friar left her and she sat beside her husband. She cannot accept the fact that he's dead already. Hoping that there's still poison left on the lips of Romeo, she kissed him but nothing happened. She kept on asking why she isn't yet dead. She took the dagger of Romeo and was to stab herself when she realized something.
If only she had realized the importance of life. If only they had been wiser before doing what they had done. Would she still be happy without her beloved husband by her side? Can she face the life where there is no Romeo around? When would she ever understand the law of life... and love?

_______________

AFTER A YEAR
~JULIET'S POINT OF VIEW~

It's been a year... and yet, it still hurts. Why are you not with me here? Why did you left me here alone?

A year had passed and yet, the wounds are still open.

You left me with no word. You left knowing I left you. Why? Love really is unfair.

I want you back badly but... I couldn't change the fact that you're gone... forever. I need you here with me.

I loved you ever since the first time we met...

I still love you 'til now...

and I guess...

I will always love you until forever...

The Most Precious Treausure

Education, it is the treasure every people have. No one can steal it. It will remain inside us until we die.

I Always Remember

All of us have our own favorite teacher. We have different reason on why we consider them as our favorite. For me, my favorite teacher is my mother.
My mother, she was the first teacher I ever had. She's the one who taught me the values of life I need to learn. Whenever I did something wrong, she would tell me what I should do. In times of problems, she's always there lending a hand for me. She never leave me alone especially in times the darkness are conquering my life. Even though there are times I don't want to listen to her, she never stopped reminding me what I should remember, and what is the right thing to do. Whenever I'm in school, I always bring the values she taught to me and to my sister.
I am very thankful because God gave her to me. There are times I'm pulling her down but, she's still standing up not because she want to show us she's a strong person, but because she wants us to learn how the love you have for others... makes you strong and live purposely.

The Faith of the Centurion (Matthew 8:5-13)

PLOT
Jesus entered Capernaum when a centurion approached him.
The centurion asked Jesus if he could heal his dear servant who was sick that time.
Jesus asked the centurion if he could come to his place but he refused.
The centurion said to Jesus that he is not worthy and that Jesus could only heal the servant by just saying it.
After hearing what the centurion said, Jesus was amazed on the centurion.
The servant was healed at that very moment.
SUMMARY
When Jesus entered Capernaum, a centurion approached him, asking for his help. He told Jesus about his servant who was paralyzed at his house. Jesus asked if he should come and heal the servant but the centurion refused. He said that he does not deserved it, that if Jesus would just say it, it would happen. He's a man under authority with soldiers under his, and when he commands them to do something, they will do it. The moment Jesus heard what the centurion said, he was amazed and turned to the people who were following him ad said,"Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great FAITH. I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." Then Jesus turned to the centurion and told him to go and let the healing be done just as he believed it would. And at that very moment, his servant was healed.

Stand!

"Even when it hurts
 even when it's hard,
even when it all just falls apart.
 I will run to you
'Coz I know that you are
 Lover of my soul
 Healer of my scars
 You steady my heart..."

In each and every event in our lives, there are may challenges we are facing. And because of those challenges, we let ourselves to be hurt ad we are almost giving up. But, there one person that you could run to. He will NEVER leave NOR forsake you. Everything happens just the way he plans.... and it is God. You are free to run to him. To tell everything to him for even if you don't say it, he already knew it, but he would be grateful if you are the one who will tell him.

Many challenges may occur in our lives, but you have to face it. You have to stand and surpass it o matter what. As long as you're right, and you know that God will ALWAYS be with you.

My Own Legacy

As I am starting to recognize my roles in life, I also start doing my best to maximize the strengths that I have. And with those things that I am doing right now, I'm am starting to build up my own legacy here on earth.
For me, legacy is not just by doing some heroic deeds but legacy is being who you are and expressing it no matter what. Well, I wanna be remembered as who I really am and not a kind of person who I am not. I wanna be remembered not just because they have to. I want to be remembered not intentionally like when they are doing something, they'll find themselves thinking during the times we are doing those things, and he's happy when he/she is reminiscing about it.
Like what I've said a while ago, I am now starting to build my own legacy and right now, building it is really fun and exciting even though there are times that I failed but that doesn't count on me because I'm using it in a positive way or conclude it as a lesson in my life.

THE HERO OF MY LIFE

Each and everyone of us have a hero in our lives... so do I. It is not just only one but the two of them, who eventually sacrificing almost everything they have just to keep our family living in happiness and peace. They are my parents.
First, my father whose name is Jesus Andaya Jr. He is the type of person who is short-tempered but a man who's full of love inside his heart. He doesn't want us to see his weaknesses but I know, every time we had a family problem, he is already dying inside just to figure out a solution for that. Whenever I need something, he's always giving it to me even though it is not the exact thing I need. Most of the times, we're always arguing but after that I will realize... how can I be so rude to someone who's always there for me and not missing a single event in my life? Well, I'm not the type of person who's always expressing my deas loudly that's why sometimes they think that I'm numb. We're just ALMOST the same.
Second is my mother whose name is Babyruth Andaya. They are very different when it comes to patience but in the love they have for us, they're just the same that is not measurable by SUCH A THING. She's the kind of person who is silent if she don't you. And also, she NEVER EVER misses a single event in our lives. Even though she's sick already, she'll always think about us and also her siblings even thought they all had their own families. She's always taking most of the responsibilities when it comes to our family. She's the kind of person who'll just say what's wrong to us when time comes that she can't handle it anymore and I can do NOTHING about it! I really hate it that all I can do is just cry and call out to God, and seeking for His will to be done in our lives. She never fails to show me something I could use for myself to be better. It's like, she's my comforter when I have any problems that I could tell her because I know she is always there to listen to me.
Lastly, both of them are my savior. Why? Because they are ALWAYS there for me and my sister. They will not let us live miserable that's why they were always fulfilling us by their love even though we're in the middle of a problem and we will just laugh at it. Next to God, they are the ones who gives us strength to go on and strive for excellence in our lives. And if someone will ask me who is my inspiration when I became successful? I will proudly tell them that MY PARENTS IS MY HERO WHO URGED ME TO STRIVE FOR THE EXCELLENCE.

Another Stage of Life

In school is another stage play.
All students will have to play their parts.
First, being a student catching up,
everything he has to know about things.
He'll find his good true friends as time passes.
Wearing a smile when other are around,
and soaking with tears when you are alone.
Being studious when exams are near,
and being relieved when you pass through it.
Another year he still has to pass.
Meeting with friends and wandering around.
New people around to interact with,
and adjusting to your new surroundings.
That is how the cycle goes on and on...
It maybe hard but you'll get used to it,
and all the hardships you've had is worth it.

A Week as Junior

On my first week as a Junior of Cavite National Science High School, I'm not much excited but I still can't feel that I'm in Grade 9 already. During the first day, it sounded boring 'cause it's feels like a decade already in every class knowing that they were just giving us the requirements we still need to have, and discussing some topics we learned last school year, which is funny because I can't really recall the lessons we had when we're on Grade 8!
On Tuesday, that is when I noticed that some of my friends/classmates were quiet including me. My seatmate on the left side was the only one I'm always talking with. I don't know what just happened to us 'cause during our Grade 8, we were just too noisy! And yesterday, during Chief's Hour, I feel somewhat irritated 'cause they're not taking it seriously that when our class president is talking in front, they were talking at the back like they didn't hear what she's saying. It's just that, if that was me in front, I would be somewhat mad because they are not respecting me.
I think that maybe, just maybe, that our class should be studying rather than talking about some non-sense thingwhich is were I'm guilty of—or just talking about the things we have to do in order to improve our studies right?
I just hope that the following weeks will be exciting that I would not want to sleep during class even though our teacher was speaking in front. I'm sorry about that, but I didn't sleep! I forced myself to be awake because of the respect I have for all of them. I hope that there will be a bit of change in the habits of our class.
